Summary

Currently building new and upgrading existing UI web components into reusable NPM modules both for our own team and other teams across eBay. Using an in-house UI ReactJS-like library (called MarkoJS) and a custom built NodeJS platform.

Highlights
  • Recreating current production search experience in NodeJS in order to migrate away from existing Java/JSP stack.
  • Mentoring junior engineers through code review as well as teaching our development environment and explaining the general structure of reusable components for further platform development
  • Creating not only cross-browser compatible UI modules, but also thorough unit and functional tests as well as stringent accessibility requirements for every component to ensure the highest level of code quality is upheld
  • Organized and performed "brown bag" talks for engineering staff in order to share findings and encourage adopting modern web standards and practices
